Part Man, Part Beast!
The King of Barbot had decided it was time to see an old friend; one who was not human. It had been a while since he had come this way; he only came to the Jungle when he missed being the Beast, his longing for being the creature he was before, deepening. Adam didn’t so much long to be the Beast, so much as he longed for the freedom that came with it. His senses were much sharper in Beast form, though he had retained those. He could get across landscapes in a matter of minutes, he could use his Beast form to escape the constraints of being a King, which wasn’t all it was cracked up to be. The best and important of all the reasons why he missed his Beast form, was because, he wanted to protect his family; his wife and children. They were the most significant aspect of his life, next to his subjects, of course. If anything happened to them, and he hadn’t been able to safeguard them properly, he would never forgive himself.

He had come alone, of course. It wouldn’t do to endanger someone else’s life by being here. This place was certainly not for Humans, yet they still came, heedless of the warnings given to them. Adam considered himself to be an honorary beast – his time as the Beast had indeed made him more beast-like than human; it was only Beauty’s intervention that had circumvented his complete conversion into a definite beast. Adam sighed as his thoughts turned to his lovely wife. She was his reason for living, and being his true self. The man, who helped people out of the goodness of his heart; the man. The man, who had become a fair and just person, or so he hoped.

The King’s clothing were simple; a white shirt with black trousers, and a purple travelling cloak. He wore this outfit when he wasn’t performing any Kingly duties, or when he was helping out one of his subjects. It also helped, if he got mad and transformed into the famous Beast. All those ripped clothing, simply because he had morphed into his alternate form. It was a shame, but something that couldn’t be helped, at times.

Adam stood still, and let the wind play with his hair and cloak. He’d need to be stock-still for this to work. Taking in a few breaths, and exhaling them, the King of Barbot, whose eyes had been closed during this calming state, opened them, and spoke.

“Great Wolf, I wish to speak to you. It has been a while, since we last spoke or saw each other, and for that, I apologise, but I am here, now. Might we partake in a romp together?”

Although his voice was not particularly, he knew the Great Wolf would hear him. His senses were far superior than Adam’s. With that task done, the former Beast waited for the King of the Jungle to make his presence known, or send Adam away.

drag my teeth across your chest to taste your beating heart
The saints can't help me now, the ropes have been unbound I hunt for you with bloodied feet across the hallow'd ground
This was no place for man, nor had it ever been. Only the bravest of hunters ventured into the thick foliage of the dark jungle. Few of those men ever came out, let alone told pleasant tales of it. Stories of eyes, of animals larger then normal. Monstrous wolves and vicious tigers. There was nothing there for mortals. Never had been never would be. Ever. They were creatures of myth and lore. Of Wolf kings and queens. None was as spoken in hushed whispers as Akela, the Great grey wolf.

A wise leader and protective of his lands. For their laws were not as man's never was never would be. They operated on loyalty and death. It was the law of the jungle. Old and as true as the sky. Even men who respected those laws or tired to fell victim to the greed of lost treasures in the vines and decaying stone palaces.

The wolf king had no treasure, only his pack, his family to which he would do anything for to protect and keep them all safe from harm. It was no different now as they had sent warning ahead of time of a stranger in their lands. Who was walking towards and crossed the borders. Few of men knew where to look - where to hunt. Akela had made it a point to snap the neck of men who dared raise weapon towards his pack within his own jaws.

He watched, waited, atop the crest of a rock that over looked the valley with yellow eyes. waiting to see just who it was that passed. With keen eye and nose he knew who it was before they even made it to the den. The only human acceptable amongst his family - a rare friend who was not who he appeared to be. A man with the senses of a creature. A beast if one would.

He was a welcomed sight, as he forbid any of his kingdom to venture or hunt in the jungle. If only other kingdoms were as wise.

He took a moment, to let the tension build until Akela appeared over the top of the hill outcrop looking down at the man in humbled clothing. A respectful move for the man was not royalty here. The wolf gave a slow nod before climbing down the rocky face of the side wall with only the grace a creature could have doing so before he padded towards the man, bumping his hand with his muzzle to signify that not only was he welcome but a friend to the others.

With that he sat back on his flanks and waited for the man to change shape into something more suitable for a possible joint hunt.

You are the moon that breaks the night for which I have to howl

Part Man, Part Beast!
The King of Barbot had learned to be patient; he’d had to, not only for Beauty but for his advisors and subjects, as well. When he had first regained his human form, it had taken some getting used to, but with time and patience, the handsome man had learned to be an ordinary man, albeit with enhanced senses, however, he had then learned that he hadn’t been completely freed from his curse; when he got too angry or emotionally distressed, he became the Beast once more.

Adam surveyed his surroundings and then cast his gaze upwards and saw a big shape in the distance. Seeing the Great Wolf nod at him, the brawny King watched as the creature descended and came over to Adam. He then touched the former Beast’s hand, which made him smile a little and chuckle. When Akela sat down on his flanks, waiting expectedly, Adam knew what that meant; it was time for the Beast to come out, though that was not so easy, but he was going to do it, anyway. He didn’t get to be the Beast nowadays, and it would be good to have a romp with a ruler who was all animal.

Getting himself centred, Adam closed his eyes and focussed on inhaling and exhaling. He next had to think of a memory that made him extremely angry. Once he had found his memory, he concentrated on the terrible anger he had felt. Pretty soon, he felt it; the pain rippling across his body; his clothes shredding and tearing. His hairs became longer and wirier. His nails became longer and claw-like, his canine teeth became bigger, and to top it off, his senses were kicked into overdrive. He threw his ever-changing arms and beast-like hands as he prepared for the final bit of the transformation. All the while, he was screaming in pain, and at the end of it all, he let off a deep roar, and panted for a few minutes.

“One of these days, I need to see a fairy,” he said to himself before going to his full height, and looking to his fellow monarch. “After you, Great Wolf.”
